Is the USB device listed in Device Manager?

If the USB device is not listed in Device Manager, try the following:

  1. If the device requires external power, make sure that it is plugged into a suitable outlet and that the power switch is turned on.

  2. Make sure that the USB cable is firmly connected to the USB device and the USB port on your computer.

  3. If the USB device is plugged into an external hub, make sure that the hub is turned on and that the connections between the computer, hub, and USB device are secure.
